Packaging for Lego sets: boxing the legendary toys

Packaging for Lego sets. An absolute legend among games, the dream of adults and children of all times. A company capable of rejuvenating and repositioning itself top class through the generations. Let’s see the most iconic and successful packaging of our favorite bricks, all reproducible on Packly.

Packaging for Lego sets. This 4-letter word is enough to set the mood for the topic we will address today. There is no living person, adult or child, who does not know this unmistakable brand. Lego comes from the Danish word leg godt or play well. The LEGO brand is 88 years old and was founded by a certain Ole Kirk Christiansen. The latter was a carpenter whose business had gone bankrupt. Christiansen then started making toys with the leftover material and his first creation was a duck. His children were so enthusiastic that their father decided to start mass-producing them to launch them on the market. A subsequent modification of the stackable and combinable wooden pieces gave birth to the modern blocks we all love. Seven Lego sets per second are sold around the world, so an impressive amount will have been purchased since you started reading this article.

Let’s cut to the chase and analyze the most successful and iconic Lego set packs ever.

Let’s start right away with a set that traces the history of the most famous bricks in the world. It is a pull-out box with a white background, almost vintage, representing different scenarios mostly related to the working environment. The photographic image is in the foreground and it basically positions the item by itself. No logo is there, but the product speaks for itself and there is an alert positioned at the bottom left to confirm that these are strictly original pieces.

Now let’s move on to a gem that makes us particularly proud as Italians. For the Lego architecture series, we are amazed at the black rollover hinged lid box containing nothing less than what is needed to reproduce Piazza San Marco in Venice. The film festival has just ended with the stars of the red carpet arriving in the lagoon on wooden motorboats, in a gala dress and showing off dazzling smiles. Who would not want to relive this magic and travel with the imagination to the most romantic and suggestive location in the world! For this packaging too the key is the intense black background, the realistic photography of the final result and the logo in plain sight at the top left. I don’t know about you, but for us the temptation to rush and buy this unique set is quite strong. To enhance the package, historical and architectural notes on Venice are also included in both English and Italian.

Now let’s move on to the classic Lego mini figures revisited in a Super Mario mood placed in a display. Perhaps not everyone knows that the first Lego characters did not have realistic details. The truly anthropomorphic figures were introduced in 1978. The preceding mini figures had no movable arms or legs, no face features or gender indication. Each mini Lego figure is exactly four bricks tall without a hat. There are over 4 billion mini figures produced to date. This makes the friendly Lego team the largest population group in the world (if only it were alive)!

Lego has also tried to spice up other existing games, making them more creative and interactive. It is the case with this jewelry box set recommended to fans of the Lego bricks. The box can be created from scratch and the lid can be decorated with the shapes and colors preferred by the little treasurers. A cardboard sleeve with photos and essential information on the product finishes and completes the whole, without forgetting the memorable logo. It’s a gift that basically doesn’t need wrapping.

Let’s definitely change scenario with this cube box with a wavy window containing a fancy gadget. It is a cookie jar, sugar bowl or similar in the shape of the head of a mini Lego figure. It is a must have for lovers of the genre, with the dominant yellow packaging design, the visible content and the unforgettable white logo on a red background set in stone in the minds of consumers of all ages.
